Rotherham’s Ben Swift will return to competitive racing next week at the Tour of Norway.
Swift, who rides for Team Sky, has been out of action since a fall during his final week of winter training in February. The 25-year-old injured his knee on a descent during the Trofeo Alcudia in Majorca.
And with the damage taking longer to heal than expected Swift, a track world champion last year, missed the spring ‘Classics’ races and the first Grand Tour of the season - the Giro d’Italia.
Currently training in the south of France, Swift confirmed to The Star that he’ll be part of Team Sky’s squad for the Tour of Norway, which runs from May 15-19 and the Bayern-Rundfahrt in Germany from May 22-26.
The Tour de Suisse in June is also part of Swift’s plans.
