Town stump up first win over Elescar

DONCASTER Town got off the mark at the second time of asking in Division One of the Barnsley & District Cricket League with an 85-run victory over Elesecar.

Batting first, Town made 153-8 with Mark Lockwood (38) and Curtis Free (33 not out) leading the way. Free (3-19) then starred with the ball as Elsecar were dismissed for 68.

Conisbrough (Callum Fuller 38, Nathan Lovell 33) had no answer to a 6-10 spell by Josh Holmes and were all out for 102 replying to Kexborough’s 228-8.

Sprotbrough, for whom Braithwaite (56 not out) starred, were 128 all out replying to Rotherham Phoenix’s 194-6 in their Division Two clash.

Fishlake (Josh Mason 83, Kevin Pearson 51) were 195-6 at the close at Mexborough. The home side, who banked four points from a winning draw, had earlier made 209 all out - Ryan Tingle (90 not out). Mason took 4-29).

Rossington Main 176-5 (Scott Wood 88, Andrew Gardiner 32), beat hosts Stainborough (175 all out) - Trev Wood 4-18, Scott Wood 3-20) - by five wickets.

Tickhill 187-8 (Ashley Suddes 74) defied Mark Chichester (3-30) and Connor Doherty (3-59) to make a match-winning 187-8 at home to Warmsworth.
