THE local clubs all managed to avoid each other in the draw for the first round of next season’s Yorkshire League Cup with Sheffield Collegiate facing the holders.

The Abbeydale Park club travel to Driffield who beat Barnsley in last season’s final.

Sheffield United get a home tie against Harrogate whilst Rotherham Town are at home to Cleethorpes. A home tie also for Doncaster Town against the Yorkshire Academy.

Barnsley are at Scarborough who they met in a controversial semi-final last season. Scarborough later pulled out admitting culpability in the unsatisfactory ending to the tie.

The ties are on Sunday, May 19.

The Yorkshire League season opens on April 20 with Collegiate at home to Hull.

Sheffield United go to Cleethorpes and their first home game is not until a fortnight later when they face 2012 champions York.

Collegiate and United meet on June 8; the Bawtry Road return is on August 24.
