KP returns but Jimmy left out

Have your say

KEVIN Pietersen has been recalled for England’s limited-overs trip to India but James Anderson has been left out of the squad.

England have five one-day games against the world champions and one Twenty20 match. The tour starts with the first of two warm-up fixtures on October 8.

The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that Pietersen is in the 15-man squad, which includes uncapped Surrey pace bowler Stuart Meaker. The one surprise omission is Anderson, who has been rested for the forthcoming tour.

England squad: Cook (Essex, captain), Bairstow (Yorkshire), Bell (Warwicks), Bopara (Essex), S Borthwick (Durham), Bresnan (Yorks), Dernbach (Surrey), S Finn (Middlesex), Kieswetter (Somerset), Meaker (Surrey), Patel (Notts), Pietersen (Surrey), G Swann (Notts), J Trott (Warwicks), C Woakes (Warwicks). J Buttler (Somerset) and A Hales (Notts) join the squad for the T20 fixture.
