BRODSWORTH retained top spot in Division Two of the Doncaster Evening Infirmary League when beating Adwick-le-Street by five wickets.

Colin Bishop (16), Luke Bishop (16) and Carl Newbold (15) provided the bulk of Adwick’s 93-7. Evergreen Mick Cassinelli took 2-4 and Michael Burns (2-11).

Michael Burns (25 not out) and Dave Smith (18) put Brodsworth (95-5) on the road to their eighth sucessive victory. Carl Newbold (2-10) and Jamie Walton (2-16) were the pick of the Adwick bowlers.

Third-placed Parklands posted a 51-run Division Three win at Sykehouse.

Lee Cullingworth (24), Craig Taylor (23), Cory Deere (20) and Nigel Knowles (20 not out) combined to steer Parklands to 144-6. Phil Townsend (2-18).

Chris Marshall (21) top-scored in Sykehouse’s reply of 93 all out. Lee Cullingworth (3-22) and junior Chris Conroy (3-29).

Leaders Bentley romped to a six-wicket win over second-placed Marr.

Marr’s 154-3 owed much to a superb 106 by Alwyn Dyke, who received good support from Ady Coates (26).

Bentley rose to the challenge with Pete Butterworth (65), Nicky Smith (23), Stephens (22 not out), Martin Brown (17 not out) steering them home.
