Yorkshire’s bid to avoid relegation from the LV= County Championship Division One suffered a major blow as they were comprehensively beaten by Warwickshire by an innings and 58 runs on the third day at Headingley.

All-rounder Richard Pyrah was top scorer with 28 runs as the home side were bowled out for just 127 in their second innings.

Chris Wright claimed five for 31 and Keith Barker four for 56 as the Bears forced their way back into the title race.

Warwickshire had earlier been bowled out for 482, which included 193 by Shivnarine Chanderpaul and 85 from Barker.
