Cricket: Second operation for Yorkshire bowler

Have your say

TIM Bresnan has had another operation on his troublesome elbow but hopes to be fit for Yorkshire’s pre-season trip to Barbados.

The Yorkshire and England bowler went to America for this latest surgery in which some bone and scar tissue was removed.

He had surgery on the elbow in December 2011 but the problem remained and his performances for England tailed off slightly as his pace dropped.

It is hoped that he will be ready for the new season and to prove his fitness to get back into England contention for the early season visit over here by New Zealand.

The decider in England’s three-match T20 series with New Zealand takes place in Wellington today.

England won the first one by 40 runs and got thrashed by 55 runs in the second one.
