Two big cup matches overshadow the South Yorkshire League programme this weekend - and feature Whitley Hall and York, clubs who emerged with major honours last Summer.

In the case of Yorkshire League champions York, they were top club in the country after winning the ECB National Club championship. Their defence of the trophy takes them on Sunday to Treeton, 2012 South Yorkshire League champions but who have had an indifferent start to this campaign.

Treeton will be boosted this weekend by the return of star man Steve Foster.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Whitley Hall - who have won Yorkshire’s most prestigious knockout competition in the past two years - will continue along the path to what would be a remarkable hat-trick.

They entertain the Bradford League champions Woodlands in the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champion of Champions Trophy (1pm).

The winners go to York League champions Woodhouse Grange who beat Treeton in the last round, knocking off 285.

SY Lge Premier Division fixtures tomorrow: Aston Hall v Whitley Hall, Elsecar v Upper Haugh, Houghton Mn v Coal Aston, Norton Oakes v Wickersley, Treeton v Wath, Whiston PC v Hallam.
