Big boys next for Yorkshire

Have your say

YORKSHIRE’S tilt at the ‘big boys’ of Twenty20 Champions League begins on Tuesday when they take on Sydney Sixers in Cape Town (11.30am) in their opening group games.

Qualifying pool wins over Sri Lanka’s Uva Next and Trinidad and Tobago earned Yorkshire their place in the lucrative Group stages housing the world’s leading T20 outfits.

In the Sydney squad are ex-Yorkshire opener Michael Lumb, Mitchell Starc and Shane Watson.

They face Mumbai Indians on Thursday; Highveld Lions next Saturday and MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings on October 22.

The top two go into the semis.
