the race for the South Yorkshire League’s Premier Division title is hotting up.
This weekend the three main contenders face tricky matches whilst a fourth team will see this as a last chance to get back in the race.
With just five games left, Treeton and Whitley Hall are locked on 88 points with Treeton top by virtue of more bonus points. Treeton have an awkward visit to Whiston PC - and their former prolific opener Andy Tomlinson.
Whitley go to Wickersley who are the team lying fourth and who know they must win if their hopes are to fatten up from the current slim.
Meanwhile, third-placed Elsecar - who trail the top two by three points - also have a ‘banana skin’ of a fixture when they face Aston Hall who beat them earlier in the season.
The bottom two, Bradfield and Rockingham, meet so one of them could jump out of the relegation zone if third-bottom Barnsley lose at Wath.
n Tomorrow, Whitley Hall play Wrenthorpe at Hanging Heaton in the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions of Champions Trophy Final.
