After a great start, Australia fell from 174-0 to 296 all out on the second day of the Second Test against South Africa in Johnnesburg.

Openers Shane Watson and Phil Hughes, both with 88, put on 174 but the rest couldn’t build on it with Ricky Ponting out for a duck. Mitchell Johnson made 38 not out. Dale Steyn took 4-64 and leg spinner Imran Tahir 3-55.

South Africa, who made 266, had their second innings ended by bad light at 0-0.
