Compton has chance to prove point

ANDRE Compton has the chance to prove he is the best tomorrow.

The Sheffield skipper makes the journey to Swindon's Abbey Stadium to represent the club in the Premier League Riders' Championship.

A former winner of the event, he says: "I feel pretty good about my form and had a good night at our place on Thursday when we beat Stoke. There are still a lot of top quality riders that I'm going to have to beat.

"My first priority will be to get into the top two and qualify directly to the final and then you never know what's going to happen, but I'm confident.

"It's good that the meeting is at Swindon because there have been times when it's been at Sheffield and everyone expects me to walk it. That applied last year and yet I took a nasty crash and couldn't see it through, but I honestly feel I would have won it had I not crashed."
