Clubs ready to launch bid for Vase glory

PARKGATE don't lose too many games at home and after their narrow 2-1 FA Cup defeat at UniBond Colwyn Bay in the last outing, the Steelmen will be keen to make progress in the FA Vase against North West Counties Atherton Collieries, who go into the tie with one defeat in six.

Armthorpe Welfare have started well this season winning all three games at their Church Street ground. They should be confident of making that four on the bounce at home against Northern League strugglers Chester-Le-Street, who are next to bottom of their division.

Dinnington Town have very reason to be in buoyant mood ahead of their trip to Merseyside where they take on NWC side Formby where they will be playing their sixth cup tie of the season. Steve Toyne’s side have made an impressive start and their fine 2-1 FA Cup replay win at Penrith Town on Tuesday took their undefeated record to seven games.

Brodsworth Welfare will be looking to avoid a third defeat in a row when they travel to take on Kirkham & Wesham who put out Worsbrough Bridge 3-1 in the last round.

It will be a tough call for Brodsworth with their host’s top of the NWC Division Two with just one defeat in seven.

Having lost the last four in a row AFC Emley have a home tie against Ramsbottom United but will look to the FA Vase to hopefully kick-start their season.

Staveley will be playing in their sixth cup tie in the last seven games when they host Midland Alliance side Studley.

Worsbrough Bridge are in division one league action where they will go looking for a first win of the season when they travel to Bridlington to take on Scarborough Athletic.
