GREAT Britain’s top divers will be vying for their place in the biggest sporting event in the world when they compete in the British Gas Diving Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield next month (June 8 to 10).
The Championships are the last chance for the country’s divers to qualify for London’s Olympics.
Divers will include Tom Daley, Pete Waterfield, Sarah Barrow, and Tonia Couch, as well as Sheffield-based Nick Robinson-Baker, Megan Sylvester and Monique Gladding.
Councillor Isobel Bowler, Sheffield Council’s Cabinet Member for Sport said: “It’s good to see another elite event come to Pond’s Forge. Major events like this are bringing £8 million into the city and this is another example of putting Sheffield on the sporting map.”
