Brad makes magnificent maximum

Brad Jowitt, Vulcan J's promising junior registered a magnificent maximum against Don Valley E in Division Four of the Sheffield Table Tennis league.

Jowitt accounted for the Luke Tattersall, Laura Robinson the highly-ranked England cadet and her grandfather Roy Brothwell, who last won the men’s singles title in 1971!

Dennis E Green and Chris Wallace ensured the hosts shared the points. Robinson’s big hitting style brought her two notable wins over Green and Wallace, as Brothwell and Tattersall combined well to take the doubles 3-0.

Last season’s Division Six winners, Wheelchairs B, were beaten by Wisewood A who finished behind them in third place. Thanks to braces from Dave Webb, Andy Dawson and Bob Webster, Wisewood ran out 6-4 winners. Kevin Ploughman’s Division Five hat-trick and contribution in the doubles, proved to be Wheelchairs’ only resistance.
