Boys' plum home tie

The schools’ version of the FA Cup is due to be played on Saturday, October 6 which gives the youngsters a chance to get match fit with a couple of Yorkshire Trophy group matches before their cup campaign begins.

The lads usually fare well in the Yorkshire Trophy competition and they have also celebrated success in the national inter association knockout cup, lifting the trophy on four occasions since 1982.

This will be the 96th time the Trophy has been competed for after the competition started way back in 1905 and 155 Associations will participate in the competition which is an encouraging increase on last season’s 136.
