MANAGER Dave Coldwell admits to being a little nervous about his fighter Nav Mansouri taking on seasoned pro Max Maxwell at the Magna Centre tonight.

Maxwell, 33, (W16, L13 D3) has been in with some quality opposition over the years; he has beaten current British light middleweight champion Brian Rose and drawn with Sheffield’s Area champ Jez Wilson, for instance.

“Maxwell is strong, comes to punch and gives everybody he faces a tough work out” said Coldwell. “I’m hoping Nav boxes him intelligently on the counter, but I’m sure at some point it will end up a tear-up.” Thrybergh’s Mansouri, 26, has lost once in 12 fights.

Also on the bill, likely to attract 1,000 fans, is Kell Brook’s sparring partner, Chad Gaynor. Coldwell said: “He came across well on Prizefighter and we’re looking at the British title within 18 months.”
