SHEFFIELD student Arsalan Odhman won the University Championships Gold Medal in Sheffield in the last few days in only his seventh fight.

The 21 year old from Pitsmoor is studying a degree course in Sports Coaching at Hallam University.

Mentor Brendan Ingle - who knows a thing or two about training kids, after successes with the likes of Naseem Hamed and Johnny Nelson - said not only does Arsalan have boxing talent “he has the brains too” adding: “education is a very important part of life.”

Arsalan aims to follow stablemates Lee Duncan and Adam Kelly who both graduated in the last few years.

Ingle has made it his life’s work to try and teach the virtues of respect, education and social values to generations of young Sheffielders.
