TYLOR Michel looks like he is going to be a handful on the wing for Steelers’ next season.
The new Sheffield signing has a history of dropping the gloves - although our picture shows he’s quite useful when he keeps them on, too. The shot was taken in February last year, when Michel played for Cardiff Devils and he had taken part in a bout for charity. Devils’ then captain Ryan Finnerty was there to observe.
He obviously liked what he saw both there and on the ice, as Finnerty, now coach at Steelers, has recruited the 28-year-old Canadian for the 2012-13 campaign.
Michel found boxing “incredibly tiring” saying at the time: “When you drop the gloves during a hockey match it all happens so quickly and off you go. This is different.”
