Rising to the challenge, the acclaimed swing and big-band singer brought the arena crowd to its feet
What started as a late-night phone call became one of the most talked about moments of a star-studded evening.
Sheffield vocalist Paul Pashley was the man of the moment after he stepped in at the eleventh hour to perform at the tribute celebration for boxing icon Ricky Hatton at Manchester's AO Arena on Saturday, June 6.
With less than 24 hours notice, late Saturday evening Pashley was asked to fill the slot of one of Britain's most recognised vocalists after popular singer Russell Watson was forced to withdraw through illness.

The event attracted a host of sporting legends, celebrities and VIP guests, all gathered to honour one of boxing's most beloved figures.

Renowned for his modern take on swing and big-band music, Pashley brought both emotion and energy to the occasion, earning warm praise from guests and organisers alike.
"It was an absolute privilege to be asked to perform," said Pashley. "To be part of such a special evening celebrating Ricky's incredible legacy, alongside so many amazing people, is something I'll always remember."
Pashley once again demonstrated why he is regarded as one of the UK's leading live entertainers.
