Sheffield boxing gym working on a '˜new Wladimir Klitschko!'

At Clinton Woods' Sheffield gym, they call him Klitschko.

Connor Penarski-Grant‎ is of similar build to Wladimir Klitschko - same height, weight and even shoe-size...it’s just experience, fame and bank balance that sets the pair aside.

Connor, Alfreton-born but of Eastern European heritage, bears another thing in common with the Ukrainian ‘Dr Steelhammer.’

They both want to get their hands on a Fury!

Wladimir, ofcourse, is seeking redemption against Tyson Fury, who beat him last November and then pulled out of a re-match through injury.

Eighteen -stone six feet six inches Connor, who is planning to turn professional under trainer Woods this year, wants one of his first fights to be against Hughie Fury, cousin of Tyson.

He thinks he could make a dent soon on Hughie Fury’s unbeaten record.

Connor, now of Cuckney, Mansfield has tried his hand at acting, modelling and dancing and has worked with photographers for wedding shoots and promotions.

But it’s the pro boxing game that is on his mind.

“I have spoken to Clinton about turning pro and he thinks it’s a good idea” he said.

“I am not one of those people who ‘should have, would have, could have,’ I’ll give it a go and see how it goes. One day I definitely want to beat Hughie Fury. I have been looking at him for a while. If Joshua and Klitschko can do it I don’t see why I can’t. But one step at a time.”

Connor, a 20-year-old child care worker whose grandfather used to be a professional boxer, aims to skip amateurs as he find it difficult to get opponents at his size.

He said he intends to turn professional this year, and is awaiting talks between Woods and promoter Dennis Hobson.
