Sam Sheedy’s rise up the boxing pecking order has not gone unnoticed.

His first-round victory in a Commonwealth title eliminator last weekend has put him in demand.

The Sheffield light middleweight has accepted an invitation to spar with Billy Joe Saunders in the MGM gym in Marbella.

Saunders contests the WBO World middleweight title with London southpaw Andy Lee on December 19 in Manchester.

Sheedy’s trainer Glyn Rhodes, of Sheffield Boxing Centre, said he and Sheedy would fly on on Monday.

Sheedy’s early TKO of Frank Dodzi, from Ghana, took his record to W16 L1.

He is next due to compete on February 6, at the Magna Centre.
