Kell Brook says he has no reservations about taking on a fighter who others have feared to get in the ring with.
“Canelo [Saul Alvarez, conqueror of Ryan Rhodes in 2011] gave up his title top avoid Gennady Golovkin but I can’t wait for the chance” said the Sheffield man, ahead of their London 02 Arena showdown on September 10.
“I wouldn’t put myself in a position at the end of my career where I think to myself: ‘What if..’
“I want the massive fights out there and they don’t get any bigger than Golovkin. I want people to look back at the greats (of boxing) and give me recognition for this night.”
Brook promises to be a “different animal” when he fights at middleweight. But he’s not fussed about staying in that division afterwards. “I can come down again, it just depends where those big fights are!”
