Sheffield boxer Ryan Hardy went six rounds with unbeaten prospect Liam Taylor, but came out on the wrong end of a 55-59 verdict.

The 28-year-old welterweight was outpointed in the contest at Victoria Warehouse, Manchester.

Hardy won his first six pro fights, but has now lost three out of his last four.

Former Sheffield-based lightweight Jon Kays beat Ibrar Riyaz on points on the same bill.

Hardy is due to meet Adam Little in December in Blackpool to compete for the vacant Central Area welterweight title.
