Kid Galahad is in the condition of his life as he seeks the 20th win of his professional career.
The Ingle has boxed once since returning from a drug-test ban and wants to get some big names on his CV. “I am fresher than ever, I have trained hard over the last 18 months; I have never neglected myself and I’m in the best shape ever. Mentally I am even stronger than I was before. I learned from the experience - you never stopped learning - and people will see what I will be like when I step in the ring.
“The idea of coming back after this length of time and being a better boxer than I was before is my motivation. I want people to sit up and pay attention to what I have got.”
Galahad, 26, is grateful the Ingles have “stood by me all the way. Coming back and doing well, it will be a way of repaying them for helping when I was out. Eighteen months is a long time to be out but they got me through it and like Muhammad Ali and Floyd Mayweather, I’ll make a strong return. Our gym is buzzing with talent: Kell Brook, Atif Shafiq, Adam Etches, Jordan Gill and Dave Allen. But my aim is still to become number one out of the lot of them!”
