The takings will be down at the Royal Oak in Pitsmoor on Friday night.

For boxer Tom McAssey is back in the ring. McAssey has sold around 100 tickets for his third pro duel, a four three-minute round event at Ponds Forge on the Curtis Woodhouse undercard.

“My Dad is a regular at the Royal Oak” explains the fighter. He’s got a lot of friends in there and they’ll have a few in the pub beofre going to Ponds Forge.”

McAssey, an Ingle middleweight, has been sparring with Liam Cameron, who is also on the card, he is up against Harry Matthews, whom he beat on points in a six rounder last year.

If Cameron wins, he is likely to head the field to take on the winner of the Danny Butler v Cello Renda English middleweight title fight on June 22.

Also on the bill is Nav Mansouri who will be disputing the English light middleweight title with Tyan Booth.

Sheffield heavyweight David Howe will be looking for his 10th career win. He takes on Luke Martin from Wiltshire.
