Kell Brook’s fans may not have to wait long before he’s back in action...but not against a major name.
Sheffield’s IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook might appear on the May 30th undercard of the Kevin Mitchell v Jorge Linares show at the O2 Arena in London.
Brook has insisted he wants to keep busy, fighting twice “before the end of the Summer” despite only defending his title last Saturday against Jo Jo Dan.
The South Yorkshireman put in a punch-perfect four-round performance and - after his stabbing incident last September - is anxious to make up for lost time.
Promoter Eddie Hearn says Brook has made it clear he is ready to start a new training camp.
He says the unbeaten Grenoside man is ‘itching’ to get back in the ring.
A boxer’s time at the top is often limited and Brook aims to continue to lengthen his unbeaten run to make himself more attractive to the huge names in the sport.
And a spot at the 02 could be a useful stage for the powerful 28-year-old, who has hopes of unifying the division and becoming a must-watch on American TV.
