'The best yet' from Barnsley

DELIGHTED Barnsley boss Simon Davey dubbed the first half against Stoke, 'the best yet' from his rebuilt team.

A goalless draw at the Britannia Stadium last night was acclaimed by the manager.

"In the first half I thought our passing, our movement and the way we created chances was probably the best we've played all season. To go in half-time at 0-0 was disappointing but at the same time encouraging after the way the players played," Davey said.

"Stoke then came at us in the second half and we showed the other side of the game - resolve and resilience and our defending capabilities.

"At the end of the day 0-0 at Stoke is a good result, we've now had two clean sheets on the bounce and we're very pleased."
