DBL Sharks Sheffield will spend the weekend in the South-west with road games against Bristol Flyers and Plymouth Raiders.

The Sharks visit Bristol on Saturday after a narrow 59-57 victory earlier in the campaign, before venturing further south to face top-four rivals Plymouth Raiders 24 hours later.

“It’ll be a very challenging weekend for us against two teams playing very well,” said head coach Atiba Lyons.

“They’re both very good home teams and Bristol are really coming to the fore. I’d imagine they’re full of confidence right now having reached the Trophy Final, which will also give them something else to focus on.

“We’ve got to make sure we keep improving and give a good show.”

Lyons feels a weekend off has helped his players following a bruising 62-58 win against Leeds last time out.

“It has given us a little more rest,” said Lyons. “Everyone was banged up and a bit hurt still so it’s done us good as we’ve got to make sure we’re in good shape towards the end of the season.

“I think we did really well against Leeds.

“It was a very physical game, and we needed to play a physical game and scrap away because we lost that tough London game before it.”
