SHEFFIELD Sharks have a fitness worry over the experienced Andrew Bridge ahead of tonight’s match with Mersey Tigers.
The Chesterfield-born three-point specialist is a doubt for the trip to Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park after being troubled by a knee injury.
Sharks medical team were making an assessment yesterday whether Bridge could play any part in the match.
If he is unavailable it will be a blow to player-coach Atiba Lyons, who saw his team win last week against Glasgow Rocks in the BBL Cup to reach the semi-finals.
However, it is back to league action tonight with Sharks desperately in need of a win to kick-start their Championship campaign.
The sides currently occupy the bottom two spots in the table with Sharks having one win from six games and Tigers on a seven game losing streak.
The Star understands that Sheffield are edging closer to filling their final overseas roster spot with 25-year-old American forward Demetrius Jemison being one of the favourites to join the club.
