Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters ended the unbeaten start of Leicester Riders with an 86-71 victory.
Steph Gandy led the way with 24 points, having scored 27 as Hatters swept aside Caledonian Pride the previous week. It was Hatters’third WBBL win of the season, having been beaten once.
Sheffield used a 7-0 run to gain an advantage in the opening period and had a slender lead at the end of the first. The visitors responded well in the second and moved ahead at 29-30 before an 8-1 burst from the Hatters helped earn a six-point cushion at the break.
Leicester started the second half with a 13-3 run to build their largest lead of the game at 41-46, but the Hatters hit back with 11 straight points to re-gain control ahead of the final quarter.
Riders closed to within one but the home side surged to victory with a decisive 11-3 run.
