Sharks have quality to end winless start to season

SHARKS are being tipped to figure out their playing style by the coach of tonight’s (7.30pm) opponents at the English Institute of Sport.

Durham Wildcats’ boss Dave Elderkin says despite Sheffield’s winless start to the Championship season they’ll improve as the year goes on.

He said: “We played them in the Eagles’ pre season tournament, losing by 10. I know several of their players well, Andrew Bridge, Olu Babalola, Mike Tuck, Zach Gachette and Colin Sing. Bridgey always played well against us when he was a ‘neighbour’ at the (Newcastle) Eagles, Tuck and Babalola know us well from last season, and I know Atiba has asked Zach and Colin to step up this season.

“New boy Gage Daye has good stats and seems well supported by Micah Williams. I think the Sharks are going through the same situations as the Wildcats in trying to find the best style and systems that suit their players.”
