SHEFFIELD basketball starlet Devon Van Oostrum may yet live his Olympic dream.

Great Britain head coach Chris Finch refused to rule out calling up former Silverdale school student after an injury crisis rocked his squad.

Point guard Mike Lenzly and forward Dan Clark are both rated just 50-50 to make the final Games roster after picked up calf and ankle problems respectively.

Van Oostrum, aged 19, was part of the GB training camp that Finch assembled in Texas before being released as the squad was cut to 12 players.

However, impressive performances with the GB under 20 team in their European Championship campaign - where he was named in the team of the tournament - this month have reminded Finch of Van Oostrum’s ability.

Finch said: “Devon is on the list of players we’d look to, but he’s not an imminent call up.

“We’re giving the injured guys extensive treatment and we’ll give them every chance to make the squad.”

Great Britain have to submit their final roster at 10am tomorrow.
