SHEFFIELD Sharks are expected to announce that Great Britain international Nate Reinking will return to the club.
Reinking is currently with the British squad in Lithuania taking part in the Eurobasket tournament.
The 37-year-old is a key part of the British set-up under former Sharks coach Chris Finch and is almost certain of his place on the roster for next summer’s Olympic Games in London.
Last season Reinking played for the treble-winning Mersey Tigers but has decided he’d rather play what could be his final campaign before retirement in Sheffield.
Primarily a shooting guard, Reinking was a fans favourite with the Sharks during a six-year spell from 1999-2005.
Reinking has been Sharks number one target throughout the summer.
His impending arrival will puts the future of last season’s Sharks backcourt duo of Ryan Patron and Steve Dagostino in doubt.
Sharks have already signed point guard BJ Jenkins and big man Justin Dobbins to join player-coach Atiba Lyons, forwards Olu Babalola and Mike Tuck and captain Adrian Anderson.
