SHEFFIELD Sharks forward Mike Tuck says his familiarity with the BBL will help the team this season.
The Canadian has returned for his third season with the One Health sponsored club and is looking forward to getting the campaign underway at the EIS on Friday night against Cheshire Jets in the BBL Trophy.
He said: “It was probably one of the biggest reasons why I came back.
“I’m very comfortable with Sheffield and also within the league. I know what to expect, the venues, what teams will be doing what.
“A lot of the teams are keeping the same guys or the same guys are staying within the league, so you know what each team will bring to the table night-in, night-out.”
“We don’t want to give up any of these early games. Not only for the Trophy but also for our confidence going into the regular season.
“We have to take care of these wins early.”
Tuck has been impressed by the addition of American Justin Dobbins to the front-court and Tim Lewis as Sharks’ new Director of Basketball.
He said: “Last year he (Dobbins) was one of the best big men in the league. He’s a big body a great rebounder and a good scorer inside. And with Tim Lewis on the bench, he adds that experience.”
