SHARKS player-coach Atiba Lyons is calling on forward Olu Babalola to ‘step up his game’ ahead of tomorrow’s BBL Championship match at Glasgow Rocks.
Babalola is averaging just eight points per match in the three league games Sharks have played this season and has been a peripheral figure during Sheffield’s three-match losing run.
Lyons said: “We’ve had a conversation and agreed that he needs to step it up. He’s a senior player and he’s here to provide leadership. He knows he can do more.”
Sharks have been boosted by news that influential Rocks guard EJ Harrison will miss the match with an ankle injury.
Preferring to concentrate on his own team, Lyons said his players have looked good this week in training.
“We’re coming together and gelling a bit better every day. We’ve had a good week.
“It’s important that we get a win. It’s still early in the season but we need to keep in the hunt.”
