Sheffield Sharks hit the road again tonight at Glasgow Rocks as they look to end a four-match losing streak.
The Sharks looked to be coming into form as they won three out of four in late January but defeats against Newcastle Eagles, Leicester Riders and two at the hands of London Lions – including last Friday’s BBL Trophy quarter final loss – leaves them desperate to return south of the border with a victory.
Sheffield have 13 matches remaining in the BBL Championship with their play-off place by no means certain.
The next three are all away from the EIS at Worcester Wolves and Bristole Flyers before they take on Plymouth Raiders on March 13.
The Sharks sit just below the Rocks in the Championship table but Glasgow have two games in hand.
However, a win for Sheffield would give them the season series adding to the 69-55 victory in Sheffield last Decemeber.
Rocks player-coach Sterling Davis, who enjoyed a spell with the Sharks in the mid-2000s said he was determined to win on his team’s home court.
“With them being so close, we definitely need to protect the head-to-head,” said Davis.
“I think both teams have quite a bit on the line and will be up for the challenge at hand.”
Davis added: “Our home support is always great and something that definitely gives us the extra boost.”
