Four Sheffield Sharks players have been named in the England squad for next month’s international match against Ireland.

Captain Mike Tuck will be joined by Zach Gachette, Colin Sing and Nick Lewis for the game at the NIA in Birmingham on January 12.

All four are also students at Sheffield Hallam University and combine playing with the Sharks in the BBL and for the university team in BUCS games.

Doncaster’s Rob Marsden, who plays for Manchester Giants in the BBL, has also been named in the squad as is former Sharks guard Perry Lawson.

The current 16 man roster is made up entirely of BBL players and offers an opportunity to impress with Great Britain summer selections in mind.
