Sharks guard Nick Lewis is confident his team can beat high-flying Leicester Riders and play-off rivals London Lions this weekend.

Sheffield travel to third-placed Leicester on Saturday before welcoming London to the EIS on Sunday afternoon (4pm).

Riders beat the Sharks 89-86 the last time they played but Lewis he and his teammates can overturn that result. He said: “To get over the hump [against Leicester] we just need to play hard and execute well.

“We started off slow against Leicester in our last meeting, but managed to send the game into overtime, there is no doubt that we can play with them. We just need to get the job done.”

Sharks performed well against league leaders Newcastle last Sunday, which Lewis says gives him hope for the rest of the season.

“I feel that we measure up well with Newcastle and any other top team in the league when we are playing hard and as a team,” added Lewis.

“Right now we still need some getting together to reach our potential to play like the number one team.”
