Sheffield Junior Saints under 14s and under 16 face their first test of the play-offs this weekend.

The U14 squad, who finished top of the North Conference with a 16-0 record are top ranked of the three Northern Conferences and are overall No 1 seeds in the north for the playoffs, take on Liverpool at All Saints Sports Centre in Norfolk Park on Saturday (noon).

Liverpool finished third in the North-West Conference but will provide strong opposition if the young Saints are to make it through to the quarter-finals next weekend.

On Sunday the U16 Saints squad play Cheshire Wire II at All Saints (1.30pm) hoping to progress to the last eight, too.

The U16s finished second in the Northern Premier Conference with a 17-3 record and had a bye in the first round of the play-offs. Cheshire beat Childwall in the first round.

If both teams win they have home quarterfinal games next weekend.

And the Final Fours are also in Sheffield at the English Institute of Sport EISS over the May Bank Holiday weekend (May 2-3).
