Sharks forward Patrick Horstmann is encouraging his teammates to build on their recent good form.

Despite a defeat last time out at Leicester Riders the Sharks should bounce back with a victory tonight (7.30pm) against the winless Surrey United at the EIS.

Horstmann said: “I think we just need to continue on what we built these last few weeks, playing hard and focused every possession.

“We have many good shooters so I am sure some of the shots we missed will start falling.”

The Sharks has lost once this season at home - a 77-72 reverse against Glasgow Rocks on December 20 - and Horstmann says they’ll remember the match at Surrey early last month when the BBL new boys pushed Sheffield all the way.

“Surrey gave us a tough battle at their home court a while ago so I am sure they will be even better by now,” Horstmann said.

“We just have to come ready to play hard for 40 minutes.”

Four Sharks players will be in the England squad for the international match against Ireland before Sunday’s BBL Cup final in Birmingham between Newcastle Eagles and Leicester Riders.

Mike Tuck, Nick Lewis, Colin Sing and Zach Gachette have all be selected.
