Sharks will be hoping for a strong first leg performance tonight at Manchester Giants as their BBL play-off campaign begins across the Pennines.

The two teams will meet again at the EIS (4pm) on Sunday to conclude their tie but the game this evening could prove pivotal for deciding who will progress to the semi-finals.

Sheffield have beaten Manchester on all three occasions this season but forward Olu Babalola is warning against any complacency from his team.

“Having faced Giants last weekend (an 86-69 Sharks victory), it probably doesn’t really help us much.

“If anything, it’s universally hated to play any team three times within the space of a week or so and be expected to win all three games,” he said.

“It takes a level of maturity in order to do it and while difficult, that is our aim.”

“The play-offs are like a whole new season and so we must come out with an even higher level of intensity.”
