HATTERS forward Julie Page says she has confidence that the sport will resolve its funding crisis.
Page, aged 29, who will be a key figure in Hatters’ National Cup final against Team Northumbria at Ponds Forge on Sunday, was part of the Great Britain Olympic team at last summer’s London Games. Although her team were expected to challenge for a last eight spot they lost all five matches.
A further blow came when UK Sport announced the sport’s funding would be zero for the 2016 Olympic cycle.
Page said: “It was disappointing. We have made great strides since the programme was set up. I’m confident we’ll sort it. Great Britain basketball have worked miracles in recent years.”
