THE BUPA Great North 10K road race is in Sheffield tomorrow with a massive entry for this annual event.

Heading the list of elite runners is Nick McCormick (Morpetrh) who ran in the 5000 metres in the 2012 Olympic Games. In the women’s race, Gemma Steel (Charnwood) defends her title after her surprise win over Jo Pavey in last year’s race.

The course starts in the city centre and heads out down the flat and fast Penistone Road. The halfway point is Hillsborough Stadium and the route returns on the other side of Penistone Road.

The race starts at 10:00am with the mini race at 1:00pm and the junior race at 1:45pm.
