Sheffield golden girl Jessica Ennis-Hill finished third on her competitive return to action at the Great City Games in Manchester.
The 29 year old, who had taken time away from athletics almost two years ago following the birth of her first child, Reggie, registered 13.14 in the 100m hurdles.
Tiffany Porter won in 12.86 seconds, with Lucy Hatton second.
Ennis-Hill said she was delighted to be back in action but disappointed with the time.
““It was really good to be back,” said Ennis-Hill.
“I feel like it’s a starting point now. I feel like I can build on that.
“I’m always going to be disappointed. I know I am capable of running a lot faster, but I hit a hurdle. I feel like I’m lacking race sharpness.
“I’m happy to come away with that, I can build on it.”
