Acacia Williams-Hewitt strikes triple gold as Hallamshire Harriers win 38 medals in county championships

Acacia Williams-Hewitt won three gold medals on a record breaking day for her club Hallamshire Harriers in the Yorkshire and Derbyshire Track & Field County Championships at Cudworth.

She took Yorkshire Gold in all three of the Under-15 girls sprints – 100m, 200m and 300m, the latter in a new Championship best.

And Harriers amassed 38 medals - 17 gold, eight silver and 13 bronze.

On the way, they also broke five championship records and equalled another one.

Championship bests were also achieved by Erin Lobley (Yorks U13G shot), Emma Shipley (Derbys U13G 1500m), Ruby Simpson (Yorks U13G 800m) Imani Wilson (Yorks U20W 3000m).

Ruby Simpson won by a huge margin with a personal best of 2:20.52, breaking a 34-year-old championship record.

Miriam Levy equalled Jessica Ennis-Hill’s Yorkshire U15G high jump record.

Other Hallamshire gold medallists: Gabriel Gisborne (Derbys U15B 800m), Steve Humberstone (Derbys O35 Men 100m), Josh Humberstone (Derbys U17M 200m), Lauren Foletti (Yorks U15G javelin), Sophie Oliver (Yorks U15G pole vault), Saskia Huxham (Yorks U17W 300m Hurdles), Jodie Hill (Yorks U15G 1500m).

Silver: Kassy Peat (Derbys U17W 300m), Claudia Turnell (Derbys U15G 800m), Ben Kelly (Yorks U17M 100m), Morgan Francis-Lewis (Yorks U17M 200m), Nicole Hague (Yorks U15G 75m hurdles), James Lee (Yorks SeniorM High Jump), Sophie Oliver (Yorks U15G hammer), Lucy Revitt (Yorks U17W 300m).

Bronze: Eniola Ajagbe (Derbys U15G 100m and 200m), Amy Allcard (Derbys U13G 800m). Cosmo Johnson (Derbys U13B 800m, 1500m, long jump), Josh Humberstone (Derbys U17M 400m hurdles), Gabby Craft Yorks U20W 100m), Nicole Hague (Yorks U15G long jump), Thomas Hughes (Yorks senior mens High Jump), Connor Milnes (Yorks seniormen 5000m), Lucy Revitt (Yorks U17W 200m, Ellie Rogers (Yorks U17W high jump).
