WHILE two million people anxiously wait on London 2012 ticket news – a Hallam University student has been announced as one of the first 500 worldwide to win a pair of tickets to next year’s Olympics.

Jing Zhang, 28, has secured a chance to potentially see triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt or double gold medallist Rebecca Adlington in action in a Lloyds TSB promotion. The rest of the world has had to wait to find out if they have a seat at the Greatest Show on Earth. But Miss Zhang, who is studying Sports Business Management, was overjoyed at her premature London 2012 news.

“I am delighted to have won a pair of London 2012 tickets, it is unbelievable news; I am just so shocked that I have won,” Miss Zhang, of Eldon Street, said.

“I am really into sport and I actually study sports business management at Hallam so something like this was right up my street.

Ticket winners were drawn at random from the Trackside customer programme, with 500 supporters being given the chance to watch one of the 26 Olympic sports and 20 Paralympic sports at London 2012 over 31 action-packed days. And Miss Zhang added: “I’m originally from China so I’ll be cheering on the Chinese athletes at London 2012, and one I’ll be looking out for more than most is Li Na in the tennis.

“But I am also a big fan of Jessica Ennis since she is from Sheffield and she has a really good chance of wining gold so I will be cheering her on too.”
