Can Kyren Wilson break the curse of The Crucible?
Snooker’s World Championship returns next month to Sheffield, its home since 1977.
It’s a magical time of year for snooker fans around the globe, and particularly those in Sheffield who can enjoy the atmosphere around the city when the biggest names from the green baize are around.
Look out for a special celebration of snooker in Tudor Square on Friday April 18th, with more details to be announced soon.
The main event runs from April 19th to May 5th, with the world’s top 16 as well as 16 qualifiers competing for the trophy which was first won by Joe Davis in 1927.
Kyren Wilson won the title for the first time a year ago, beating Jak Jones in the final. He’s now dreaming of becoming the first player to break the Curse of the Crucible, as no first time winner has successfully defended the title.
I’ve got this inner steel. I love playing at the Crucible. It suits my game, it suits my personality. I know how tough it is to win a world championship. But a lot of players go missing after winning it. I feel like it has inspired me, it has made me push my chest out a little bit at events. It has given me that inner confidence.
There are a limited number of incredible VIP packages available to watch snooker’s greatest tournament at the Crucible, including the Century Club which includes fine dining, champagne and seats in the front two rows. For all details visit the tickets site here
