Sheffield’s newest bar OHM opened its doors for its exclusive launch party last weekend.

The cocktail bar has taken up residence in West One Plaza, on Fitzwilliam Street after a major refurbishment.

The venue is now set over two floors, designed in a style of Victorian opulence with a modern, high-end twist, featuring a 30ft marble bar and a selection of eclectic furniture and lighting that give a real sense of grandeur and intimacy.

The upstairs of the prominent building - which was formely The Hop bar and had a barbecue outlet located inside - has been converted into a private, bespoke bar which will be used for cocktail master classes and private functions hire.

With an aim to become the number one destination for post-work food and drinks and weekend dancing, OHM serves up its own range of twisted cocktails and upmarket street food.

The bar holds and extensive line of craft ales includingThornbridge, Lagonitas and Beavertown, as well as a diverse range of high end premium spirits and perfect serve gin and tonics.

A team of nearly 40 staff has been training hard for a month in preparation for the launch, with bartenders having to pass a special series of spec tests before they are let loose on the cocktail menu.

The cocktail menu consists of 30 classic and delicious cocktails, which have then been reinvented with new flavours by OHM’s talented team of mixologists.

The kitchen team have also been busy, creating a menu of succulent burgers, special fried chicken and hand pulled stone baked pizza all with an urban twist using locally sourced ingredients.

OHM is now open daily from 4pm with drinks served until 1.30am at the weekend and happy hour deals available every day between 4-8pm.

To celebrate the launch of OHM this coming bank holiday weekend happy hour will be running throughout the entire weekend.

“Sheffield’s economic reinvention and industrial roots are the perfect mix for a bar that’s not afraid to do things a little differently”, said a spokesman for OHM.

“Why not try your favourite cocktail, livened with a unique OHM flavour and find out more about the great food, irresistible drinks and electric vibe at OHM?
