Mr Singh said there was also "concerning" images of school children from the local area, filmed from a vehicle, found on the computers.

Forrester claimed he had been in a dispute with some of the children, but Mr Singh said the crown did not accept that explanation.

Rebecca Stevens, mitigating, said Forrester, who has no previous convictions, "used pornography for a significant period of time but he never deliberately searched for the illegal child material."

"He accepts those images were found on his computer, " she said. "They were a very small portion from a huge amount of material that was downloaded, which was legal adult pornography.

“He doesn't want to look at any more pornography again. He has put a filter on his internet access. He is very keen to engage with assistance.

“He has had this case hanging over him for two and a half years. The fall out has been huge within his family and his community. The people in the public gallery are not here in support of Mr Forrester.”

She said the footage of children was taken because of "anti-social behaviour issues."

Forrester, 33, of West Street, Hoyland, Barnsley, pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children and possessing extreme and prohibited images.

Judge Sarah Wright told him she could send him to prison, or impose “an onerous order which will force you to confront your offending and make sure you do not offend again.”

She made a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for seven years and imposed a three year community order, with 40 sessions on a sex offenders' programme, 35 rehabilitation days and 150 hours of unpaid work.
